Intimacy with the Hebrew language helps you find your way to richer Jewish life. Whether for prayer, for Torah, or for Israel, learning to understand the words changes everything. This class is an introduction to the grammar and structure of the Hebrew language, using the vocabulary of the prayer book. The class is designed to make learning Hebrew accessible for people who work, for parents, for adults who are not about to morph into college students. Everything you learn in this class is groundwork for Modern Hebrew, and also for Biblical Hebrew. Whatever your goals, this is the place to start. The 2010-2011 Opening Hebrew class is for “advanced beginners.” The main group of students will be people who are continuing on after taking Opening Hebrew for Beginners last year.
